Using octomux

octomux runs on one machine you own. You reach it from whatever you happen to be holding.

Pick a host

Loops keep looping and schedules keep firing only while the host is up. A laptop that sleeps is a poor host — a spare Mac mini, a Linux box or a small cloud VM is a good one.

From your phone

Put the host and your phone on the same Tailscale tailnet, then start octomux bound to the tailnet interface:

octomux start --bind 0.0.0.0

Only tailnet devices can reach the port, and a token gates the rest. The dashboard is built for a phone screen, terminals included.

Do not expose the port to the public internet. --bind 0.0.0.0 plus a tailnet is the supported path. Bound to a public interface, it is not.

From Slack or Telegram

A Slack app and a Telegram bot drive the same fleet: kick off work, answer a permission prompt, or ask what shipped. You can also keep a long-lived agent with its own system prompt on its own channel.
